High Silica Sewing Thread for Machine Sewing
High Silica Sewing Thread for Machine Sewing is made of multi-ply 96% SiO2 silica fiber yarn with high twist. The thread is specially designed for machine sewing. Special surface treatment improves its surface abrasion resistance and compression properties. It fulfills the need of machine sewing.
Silica based materials provide burn-through protection from molten metal and weld splatter.
Used at 2000°F / 1093°C continuously, used at 2552°F / 1400°C instantly, molts above 3000°F / 1650℃.
Different coating available and normally coating materials is PTFE, PU, etc.
Product Applications
-- Used to weave tape/webbing, rope/packing, knitted rope, sleeving.
-- Used to sew filter bags used in carbon black/ metallurgy/ cement industries .
-- Used to sew weak alkali-resistant weave.
-- Used to sew safety clothing, gloves, welding and fire blankets, etc.

1. As this silica sewing thread is leached silica(leached silica have less tensile strength), when it’s used in
industrial high speed sewing machine require a transmission to limit the velocity less than 30 punches per
minute to avoid to break the thread.
